France welcomed 84.5 million tourists in 2015, a 0.9% increase compared to 2014.

This increase was hindered by the terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015, according to Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

However, he rejoices over these “excellent figures.” He also highlights the “spectacular increase in the number of Asian tourists.” It reached +22.7% in 2015.

According to Jean-Marc Ayrault, France is maintaining the objective of “welcoming 100 million foreign tourists annually (…) as soon as 2020,” cites LeFigaro.fr.

On Thursday, April 7, 2016, Insee also published a study on touristic collective accommodations of France.

The study states that in 2015, the number of stays in the country's facilities has increased by 2% with 8 million overnight stays more than in 2014, totaling at 406,400,000 overnight stays for the whole year. 31.9% of these stays were spent by foreign tourists.
