TourMaG.com already announced it last April.

The three regional branches of Hop! Air France are going to legally merge in order to form one single company by April 1st, 2016 with a unique transporter’s certificate.

This process will lead to the loss of 245 jobs out of 3,000 positions, divided between maintenance (85), air crew (80), and on-the-ground personnel (80).

However, union bodies do not know which company will be most affected.

At BritAir in Morlaix, some talk about 100 jobs disappearing. “We are a bit bitter considering that Hop! Brit Air was becoming profitable again,” assures Pierre-Yves Goarant, the union representative of PNC UNSA.

HOP! is now profitable

Its works council had in fact sued the company in view of getting the balance sheets of its business unit.

And according to the numbers retrieved by accountants, the company is now profitable.

For now, it seems that Morlaix will maintain its training center with the Bombardiers flight simulators as well as part of the maintenance of the Airlinair’s ATRs.

The remainder should be transferred to Rungis, the future headquarters of Hop! and the current office of Airlinair.

Thanks to this fusion and to the savings it will lead to, the group Air France-KLM hopes to restore the activity of its short and medium-haul flights, when just last year it was at an overall downturn of 140 million euros.
