The 2nd meeting of the 68 mayors of the mountain resorts of the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA), members of the national association of mountain resort mayors (ANMSM) took place last week in Montgenèvre.
Christian Estrosi, President of the PACA region attended the meeting. He took the opportunity to announce the establishment of a budget of 17 million euros per year allotted over 6 years to the ski resorts of the Southern Alps.
An amount that should enable the development and renovation of accommodations, the renewal of ski lifts, the strengthening of snowmaking technology, and the diversification of Summer/Winter equipments.
The funds are coming from both the PACA Regional Council and the European Union (EU).
Furthermore, the region had responded to a call for projects around the theme of digital development in its territory. As the winner, it will receive additional aid from the State amounting to 50 million euros for 3 years.
