The “Tourism and Strategy” Festival has the ambition of becoming, in a sustainable way, a large event that is both clear and professional, by uniting both the general public and tourism operators.
It will take place every other year at Rueil-Malmaison.
It is already set up: Dubrovnik will be the host city in 2016.
National tourism offices along with a chosen panel of tour-operators will meet on June 3rd, 2015, at the site of the Malmaison and Bois-Préau castles, now part of the National Museum.
On the agenda - beyond the competition - will take place conferences (on the themes of Heritage Tourism and Event Planning), professional encounters, folkloric shows, tastings, creative workshops, and lots of prizes (including trips) to win.

Tourism strategy in all of its mediums
Elected by their national tourism offices after thorough investigation and based on their profiles, the representatives of the competing cities will come to Rueil-Malmaison.
They will present, in front of a jury, their tourism promotion strategy in all of its mediums: written, spoken, video. The presentation will end with an oral interview of 15 minutes.
The jury will be comprised of celebrities from the sectors of tourism, theater, cinema, and communications.
Under the Presidency of the actress Elsa Zylberstein, the jury will be composed of Christian Mantéi (Atout France), René-Marc Chikli (SETO), Anne Bouferguene (Voyageurs du Monde), Martine Balouka Valette (Groupe Pierre & Vacances), Frédérique Dumas (Ylemfilms), Pascal Elbé (actor-director), Michel Taride (Hertz International).
The European Stars of Tourism will be awarded during the gala dinner.
There will be 5 prize categories: the best audiovisual material, the best digital material, the best event planning strategy, the best selection of derived products.
During the press presentation, Mayor Patrick Ollier insisted on specifying the following: due to the budget cuts that municipalities are now subjected to, this large-scale international event will be financed by sponsors and other patrons.
It will barely cost anything to the municipality.
