On the island of Paros, in the Cyclades, the hotel club Héliades Karma Porto Paros, is located right in front of the city of Naoussa. From the hotel, this little fishing harbor is accessible in a 10-15 minute taxi boat ride. Photo Credit: Karma Porto Paros
TourMaG.com - Which hotel would you recommend for a family?
Jean Brajon: The Club Héliades Karma Porto Paros because it has a mini-club and offers lots of entertainments possibilities. Its beach is also located very close to a water-sports center, ideal for an initiation to sliding or sailing sports.
Families can also get to the neighboring water park to enjoy the slides, with one them landing right in the sea.
TourMaG.com - For a couple?
Jean Brajon: The Chroma Hotel, also in Paros. It is located only 800 meters from Naoussa’s city center and 1 kilometer from the beach. It enables to independently reach the city center.

TourMaG.com - Which city must absolutely be visited?
Jean Brajon: I would recommend renting a car to explore Lefkes, a small typical mountain village that is very well conserved and offers a wonderful view on the island.
Plan a half-day or full day to enjoy the peaceful view of the site, its beautiful taverns, with its orthodox churches that are typical of the cyclades style.
TourMaG.com - What is the destination’s unmissable monument?
Jean Brajon: In Parikia, the main city of the island of Paros where all the boats dock, lies the church of 100 doors (Panaghia Ekatontapyliani). Of course, this is a legend, you will not see 100 doors…
TourMaG.com - In which part can we taste the best local cuisine?
Jean Brajon: All the cuisine in the Cyclades centers around fish. The Greeks are experts in recognizing fresh fish.
The address I would recommend is the first tavern before the harbor when entering the village of Piso Livadi, in the center-Eastern part of the island. I don’t remember the name but the owner’s name is Stavros.
The restaurant is located two steps from the harbor and only three from the beach, you’ll be able to eat while watching over your children swimming.

TourMaG.com - A nature spot to discover?
Jean Brajon: Still in the center-east of the island there is the small pebble beach of Drios perfectly adapted to families. It is located beneath a small street filled with taverns under the trees aimed at the beach.
TourMaG.com - A typical activity to practice?
Jean Brajon: I would recommend to visit the neighboring island Antiparos, on a caique. A great opportunity to go for a swim, make a barbecue…
TourMaG.com - A souvenir to bring back?
Jean Brajon: A small cyclades marble statue. They are simple, plain, with a primitive art flair, and are perfectly representative of the Cyclades.
TourMaG.com - A sentence to memorize before leaving?
Jean Brajon: A simple “hello” or “thank you” suffices to please. The Greeks are truly grateful when foreigners try to speak their language, it is amusing to them and they appreciate the effort.
French tourists are always judged as being cheap and unkind. The Greeks don’t hold this image of them. If you say a few Greek words to a tavern or hotel owner, he will deem this more important than the bill to pay.
TourMaG.com - A custom/peculiar practice to be aware of?
Jean Brajon: A Greek way of showing appreciation is by offering fresh fish. In the authentic taverns, you are asked to pick you fish before cooking it, it’s a tradition.
You are also asked how you would like it cooked. And you’ll pay by the kilo.
