KLM is not for the first time in its history in Bogotá.
From October 1992 through March 1995, KLM operated flights to the Colombian capital already.
With the addition of the new service to Bogotá and Cali, KLM now serves eleven destinations in Latin America and expanded its network to a total of 67 intercontinental destinations.
“We are pleased to resume scheduled service between Amsterdam and Bogotá after a twenty-year break, and that we have now added Cali to our network, Pieter Elbers, KLM President & CEO said. This new KLM service will be a welcome addition for our passengers.
Following my expectations, about 60,000 passengers a year will use the new KLM service between Amsterdam and Colombia. Both cities offer a wealth of superb historical sites.
Furthermore, Colombia is strengthening its business relations with Europe, and particularly with the Netherlands. The inaugural flight will be operated with a Boeing 777-200 equipped with a fully renovated interior and a state-of-the-art Inflight Entertainment System.
The renovation of fifteen Boeing 777-200s is scheduled for completion around the end of 2015."
