“Conceived as a contemplation on how we represent the uncertainties of the present and future of our world, the exhibition invites visitors to question their own beliefs, between the so-called rationality of some and the alleged superstitions of others,” explains Marianne Dilasser, Director of the Daoulas Abbey.
Through a historical and thematic visit, the exhibition aims at showing how in contemporary societies, where chance and irrationality are not well accepted, individuals organize themselves when faced with situations or events that they don’t understand, through diverse beliefs and practices linked to the supernatural world.
Amulets, bewitchment objects, documentary films - and even the reconstitution of the office of a famous psychic from the 1970s, Marcel Belline - materialize the invisible and immerse the visitor into the heart of another vision of the world.
