Alsace: Little Prince Park connected to Alsace’s eco-museum

900 meters long nature path

Since late March 2016, the Little Prince Park and Alsace’s eco-museum, located between Colmar and Mulhouse, are connected by a 900 meters long nature trail. In this way, visitors can explore the two parks in a day and combine the discovery of the world’s largest open-air museum with a visit of the very poetic Little Prince Park. Both parks recently reopened for the season and visitors are already signing up in high numbers to discover this two-in-one park, a unique destination in France!

The eco-museum: time-traveling in Alsace

Petit Prince Park
Petit Prince Park
Set up like an Alsatian village from the early 20th century with its streets, gardens, and many buildings of which some truly date from that era, Alsace’s eco-museum is one of Europe’s largest eco-museums.

It showcases Alsace’s traditions of another era with various family-friendly activity workshops.

In this way, visitors can observe Alsatian women cook in their traditional dress and taste desserts from the region, or take a tractor ride (memorable for its unique experience) with regular stops at major points of interest in the Alsatian village, a true time-traveling experience enhanced by the guide’s explanations.

Created over 30 years ago by passionate volunteers, Alsace’s eco-museum welcomed 200,000 visitors in 2015.

The Little Prince Park, a fusion of poetry and magic of the attractions

As the most recent major theme park in France, the Little Prince Park opened in 2014 and already seduced 120,000 visitors in 2015. It has 32 attractions that are all inspired by the famous book written by Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince.

“It is France’s only literary park in the sense that the story is evoked everywhere in the Park, not only with the attractions but also with the many quotes disseminated throughout the park. A wonderful manner to rediscover The Little Prince while having fun!” explains Jérôme Giacomoni, Co-Founder of the Little Prince Park.

The Park has 3 distinct themes: flight, planet to planet hopping, and meeting animals. For this new season, brand-new attractions were launched: a space devoted to 0-7 year olds, a puppet show, and new 3D films.

A two-in-one park

Thanks to a nature path, it is now possible to visit both sites in one day at a very reasonable rate of €25 for adults and €20 for children (under 14 years old.) Departing from each site, visitors can enjoy a flexible ticket with an extension to the other site.

Since the trail was established, visitors can go from the Little Prince Park to Alsace’s Eco-Museum on a carriage ride or by foot. The path crosses a particularly pleasant setting as it was set up near a body of water and next to a humid space known for its biodiversity.

Thanks to the cultural and fun activities offered in both parks (participative workshops, attractions, flying in a tethered ballon at 150 meters in altitude, farm animals, an impressive pigeon show…) children and adults alike will be enchanted by this visit where there is something in store for everybody.

We speak first hand to this since we visited both parks!
