Tourism professionals of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region are globally satisfied with the Winter 2015/2016 season.
The Committee of Touristic Development of Auvergne released a statement on Thursday April 28, in which it reports a satisfaction rate of 65%. A score that reaches 70% in mountain areas but that drops to 64% in cities and 54% in rural zones.
These results were obtained through a phone survey done by Novamétrie between April 18 and 21, 2016, toward 800 tourism professionals from the region, under the quota method.
The region's Alpine stations generated a business turnover of 17.8 million euros during the Winter 2015/2016 season, a 5% increase compared to the previous year. However, Nordic areas experienced a 5% drop to €424,000.
For the Spring 2016, the outlook is good. 69% of the region’s professionals who were surveyed report being satisfied with the level of reservations for May and June 2016. An optimism that is stronger in urban zones (78%.)
