H8 Collection acquires the hotel La Maison d'Uzès

After the hotel Mathis in Paris and the hotel Mont-Blanc in Chamonix, H8 pursues its acquisitions by taking over a private hotel from the 17th century, member of the Relais & Châteaux group: la Maison d’Uzès.

The official signature of the transaction was finalized on Tuesday March 8th, 2016.

“This emblematic hotel of the region, registered in the additional inventory of the Historical Monuments of France, fuses perfectly with the group’s DNA: hotels of character and excellence at the heart of France’s most beautiful regions” declares Jean-Philippe Cartier, President of the hotel group.

After Le Vieux Castillon in Castillon-du-Gard and le Mas de la Fouque in Camargue, La Maison d’Uzès complements the offer of the H8 Collection in Provence.

The facility has a dozen rooms and suites as well as a spa located in ancient Gallo-Roman ruins, and a Michelin-starred restaurant (1 star.)

“With its panelling, walnut-wood doors, vaulted ceilings, herringbone parquet flooring, original fireplaces from the period, and rooms overlooking Uzes’ rooftops that evoke an inimitable charm since 1699, the year this private hotel came to life. After ten million euros of investment and five years of construction work completed in 2013, the hotel’s grandeur was restored,” states a press release.
