After Costa Croisères, it is MSC Croisières’ turn to introduce the future version of its B2B website.

Named MSC Book, this platform is the result of a year’s worth of research inside the company in order to create a tool that meets all the expectations of tour operators.

The final version will be introduced in September, but not necessarily during Top Résa, where the company is not sure to be presenting.

While Erminio Eschena, the France director, didn’t want to disclose the amount of technological investment, one can try to guess by looking at all of the new functions.

The Homepage is serious, ergonomic, with a clear and pleasant graphic chart.

Vendors will now be able to compare on just one screen three different cruises with the price and inventory access in real time. A page that they will be able to print like a quote or send via email.

“This is very useful because before, the cabins that would be displayed were not always available and we were sometimes forced to start over to pick another option, which was disheartening for the client” explains Elisabeth Génin-Fillée, director of Lov’94 agency.

New filters have appeared, allowing to pick the product based on the client’s budget, trip duration, departure date or even boarding harbor.

Clients will also be able to choose their cabin location, by selecting the bridge and even the cabin number, before doing a 360 degree virtual visit of the bedroom.

The reservation is now done in 4 stages, on which one can always go back to add new services or complementary options.

“Thanks to this new system, the travel agent will be able to reserve a cruise in six minutes on average insures the director. The same process used to be two or three times longer with the old tool.

Vendors can also view the details of their sales statistics and especially their commission depending on the destinations and ships. “A very straightforward spreadsheet that will prove our complete transparency with our partners” adds Erminio Eschena.

MSC is expecting to organize a few training workshops and will add some online tutorial videos. “But this website is so intuitive that I don’t think it is necessary to provide a 70 page user’s manual to understand it.”
