Where?
In Touraine, in the Loir-et-Cher, the Loiret and the Cher: from Candes-Saint-Martin to Cuffy, on the stretch of La Loire by Bike in the Val de Loire Central Region.
Why?
“Because exploring La Loire by Bike and Boat is the best way to discover the wildest facet of this river. Tourists will make unusual discoveries: at every stop, unique personalities and rare encounters shape these cycling holidays,” explains Vincent Garnier, Director of the Regional Tourism Committee of Central Val de Loire
What to do?
A boat ride on the shores between Chaumont-sur-Loire and Amboise via the Millière Raboton paired with bonfires and adventures on an ephemeral island, a multi-activity excursion (boat, bike, canoe) with the Loire Observatory in Blois, or an escapade onboard a traditional boat with Le Raboliot near Sancerre.
Where to sleep?
“In an “Abricyclo”: these simple and cheap accommodations (€30 per night for two) are especially designed to host 2 cycling tourists and their equipment in the “Bike Reception” buildings.
Built with sustainable material and on pilotis, they meet all the essential needs of an itinerant cyclist: table, parking, lighting, storage, protection against bad weather, shared bathroom…” explains Vincent Garnier, Director of the Regional Tourism Committee of Central Val de Loire.
