Memorial tourism: Hundred year anniversary of WWI boosts visit rates of historical sites
In October 2015, the Musée de l’Homme will reopen its doors, after being closed for 7 years.
One year away from the inauguration, the institution located at the Trocadéro is starting its activity by hosting research teams at the end of November 2014.
The exhibit of the future Musée de l’Homme will be centered around 3 important themes: “Who are we?”, “Where do we come from?” and “Where are we going?”
The Museum has 500,000 prehistorical and 30,000 biological anthropology objects.
In the framework of the Museum’s Doctorate school “Human and Natural Science: Evolution and Ecology,” it will offer a graduate study program.
This program will be available to students and professionals wishing to further their education.
The Musée de l’Homme is one of the most ambitious projects of the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN), a few months following the inauguration of the new Zoological Park of Paris and the Botanical Gallery, while the Large Gallery of Evolution just celebrated its 20 year anniversary and the Mineralogy Gallery is expected to reopen in December 2014.
